Today, the Louisiana Department of Health is reporting the total number of cases has risen to 299,722. That’s 3,227 more cases since Thursday. 274,048 are confirmed; 25,674 are probable.

 

The state is reporting 19 new deaths, bringing the total to 7,291 deaths. 6,936 are confirmed; 355 are probable.

 

The total of presumed recovered as of 12/21/20 is 247,501, which is 14,776 more than last week.


 

Lafourche Parish is reporting 5,928 cases. There are 5,169 confirmed and 759 probable. That’s 33 new cases since Thursday. They are reporting 161 deaths; 153 are confirmed and 8 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 12-Dec. 16 is 8.70%, down 13.00% from the week prior, which was 10.00%.

 

Terrebonne Parish is reporting 5,819 cases. There are 5,282 confirmed and 537 probable. That’s 114 more cases since Thursday. They are reporting 147 deaths; 141 are confirmed and 6 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 10-Dec. 16 is 10.50%, up 31.30% from the week prior, which was 8.00%.

 

Statewide, there are 1,530 COVID-19 patients in hospitals, 191 are on ventilators. That’s 103 less patients since Thursday, and 8 less on ventilators.


 

The total of tests reported today is 4,272,199, which is 29,184 more tests than Thursday. There are 4,076,978 molecular tests and 195,221 antigen tests.

 

There have been a total of 77,274 tests in Lafourche (72,239 molecular and 5,035 antigen) and 74,939 tests in Terrebonne (71,432 molecular and 3,507 antigen). That’s 767 more tests in Lafourche and 1,060 more in Terrebonne since Thursday.
