Today, the Louisiana Department of Health is reporting the total number of cases has risen to 352,939. That’s 4,673 more cases since yesterday. 315,582 are confirmed; 37,357 are probable.

 

The state is reporting 53 new deaths, bringing the total to 7,971 deaths. 7,536 are confirmed; 435 are probable.

 

The total of presumed recovered as of 1/4/21 is 280,373, which is 16,661 more than last week.


 

Lafourche Parish is reporting, 7,087 cases. There are 5,794 confirmed and 1,293 probable. That’s 135 new cases since yesterday. They are reporting 166 deaths; 158 are confirmed and 8 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 24-30 is 10.70%, up 35.44% from the week prior, which was 7.90%. Incidence is 320.03.

 

Terrebonne Parish is reporting 7,214 cases. There are 6,162 confirmed and 1,052 probable. That’s 66 more cases since yesterday. They are reporting 157 deaths; 148 are confirmed and 9 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 24-30 is 16.20%, up 36.13% from the week prior, which was 11.90%. Incidence is 353.99.

 

Statewide, there are 2,035 COVID-19 patients in hospitals, 244 are on ventilators. That’s 53 more patients since yesterday, and 12 more on ventilators.


 

The total of tests reported today is 4,731,297, which is 56,902 more tests than yesterday. There are 4,471,431 molecular tests and 259,866 antigen tests.

 

There have been a total of 85,940 tests in Lafourche (78,254 molecular and 7,686 antigen) and 83,555 tests in Terrebonne (78,133 molecular and 5,422 antigen). That’s 792 more tests in Lafourche and 514 more in Terrebonne since yesterday.
