Today, the Louisiana Department of Health is reporting the total number of cases has risen to 333,524. That’s 6,882 more cases since yesterday. 299,967 are confirmed; 33,557 are probable.

 

The state is reporting 46 new deaths, bringing the total to 7,681 deaths. 7,273 are confirmed; 408 are probable.

 

The total of presumed recovered as of 1/4/21 is 280,373, which is 16,661 more than last week.


 

Lafourche Parish is reporting, 6,617 cases. There are 5,583 confirmed and 1,034 probable. That’s 132 new cases since yesterday. They are reporting 163 deaths; 155 are confirmed and 8 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 24-30 is 10.70%, up 35.44% from the week prior, which was 7.90%. Incidence is 320.03.

 

Terrebonne Parish is reporting 6,731 cases. There are 5,835 confirmed and 896 probable. That’s 130 more cases since yesterday. They are reporting 154 deaths; 146 are confirmed and 8 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 24-30 is 16.20%, up 36.13% from the week prior, which was 11.90%. Incidence is 353.99.

 

Statewide, there are 1,993 COVID-19 patients in hospitals, 207 are on ventilators. That’s 19 more patients since yesterday, and 2 more on ventilators.


 

The total of tests reported today is 4,537,096, which is 36,873 more tests than yesterday. There are 4,301,435 molecular tests and 235,661 antigen tests.

 

There have been a total of 82,102 tests in Lafourche (75,558 molecular and 6,544 antigen) and 79,723 tests in Terrebonne (74,993 molecular and 4,730 antigen). That’s 649 more tests in Lafourche and 608 more in Terrebonne since yesterday.
