Local College Organization Recognized
A local college’s student organization is being recognized for outstanding growth.
Fletcher Technical Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society is one of 609 chapters nationwide to be recognized by PTK’s Reach Rewards Program.
“Congratulations to our fine Theta Kappa honor Society on this milestone,” commented Fletcher Chancellor, Dr. Kristine Strickland. “I am so very pleased that more students will have the opportunity to experience the fellowship of academic excellence with their community college peers.”
The recognition has been given because 91% of PTK members complete an Associate degree or transfer to a 4-year college, compared to 38% of students nationally.
Reach stands for Recognizing Excellence in Acceptance and Completion with Honors.
As a 2020 REACH Chapter, Fletcher will be rewarded with free graduation stoles for their members. More than 5,300 stoles will be awarded.
