To most, 10-year-old Jayden and 11-year-old Jasmine Cheramie might look like normal siblings.

At home, they love to hang out with friends, play video games and just relax — like other kids.

But when the bright lights shine and the cameras roll, these two local kids are anything but ordinary — they’re a pair of go-getters with Hollywood dreams and quickly growing reputations in the world of show business and beyond.

The local siblings have been active in the past several months — earning parts on several TV shows and movies. So far, the children have mostly been used as extras or in background roles. But they say that they’re relishing the opportunities to learn how to handle themselves on the set of major feature films or TV shows.

“My No. 1 goal is to one day move from background to a featured or speaking part,” said Jayden.

“I love that I got to travel to a lot of different places and when I got featured parts,” added Jasmine, the first in the family to start acting. “I also loved when I got my own scene with a cat.”

The siblings’ path to the big screen happened with simple question from mother to daugher.

Mother Emelie Cheramie asked Jasmine if she would someday like to act.

The child said yes, so the mother hired an agent.

Within three months, she was booked to two movies and a TV show and the journey began.

Jasmine has appeared in the movie ‘Darlin’. In that film, she was picked by the director for a closeup.

“It was the first time I got to speak on camera,” Jasmine said.

She also worked with the cat on the first season of ‘Zoo’ and more recently, she filmed 2 episodes of Paradise Lost with her brother.

In the coming months, Jasmine said she’s going to take a little break from film. But she has no plans to sit idly. It’s just to chase another passion.

“I’m taking a break from filming to concentrate on art because I’ve always loved to draw,” she said. “I’m taking a drama class at school, so I can learn the behind the scenes stuff, too.”

For little brother, his start came through his sister.

After Jasmine started acting, Jayden gave it a shot, too.

“I would hear my mom and sister talk about filming and we’d get excited seeing her on TV or in movies,” he said. “So I wanted to try it.”

Since getting involved, he’s appeared in ‘Highwaymen’ and also 2 episodes of ‘Queen Sugar,’ though he didn’t make it on screen.

In ‘Highwaymen’, he can be seen when Kevin Costner is loading up guns while talking to Woody Harrelson.

Jayden is pictured walking down the street in the background.

Jayden is mostly new to acting, but has been busy. In recent months, he filmed two episodes of ‘Paradise Lost’ with Josh Hartnett. He also shot a scene for the upcoming movie ‘Mona Lisa’.

One of his personal favorites was a scene he did for the new Bill and Ted movie, titled ‘Bill and Ted Face the Music.’

“It was a really funny scene,” Jayden said with a laugh.

In the coming weeks, Jayden will start working with an acting coach to try and perfect his skills.

But to both he and his sister, the passion doesn’t ever feel like work.

He said they’re having fun the whole time.

“My favorite part is getting to work with famous actors and making friends with the other kids on set,” Jayden said.
