March 21, 2012The 2012 Bayou Industrial Group scholarship application is now available online at www.BayouIndustrialGroup.com. The deadline for submitting the application, essay and attachments is April 20.
BIG is offering scholarships to qualified 2012 graduating seniors residing in Lafourche, Terrebonne, Assumption and St. Mary parishes for enrollment at Nicholls State University, Fletcher Technical-Community College and South Central Louisiana Technical College-Lafourche campus.
At least one NSU scholarship, valued at $250 for up to eight consecutive semesters, and at least one $250 scholarship each for enrollment at Fletcher and SCLTC in the fall 2012 semester will be awarded.
Applicants should demonstrate scholastic ability, leadership, and school/community involvement. A cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.0 is required for NSU applicants; a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA is required for Fletcher and SCLTC applicants.
“Education and workforce development are two high-priority issues for BIG, and our scholarship program is one of our most successful ways to support both. We encourage high school seniors from throughout the Bayou Region to apply for one of our scholarships and help us help them grow into the workforce of tomorrow,” BIG President Francis Richard said.
