Louisiana’s state-licensed casinos brought in more winnings from gamblers in September than they did a year earlier, and more than they did in August.

That’s according to figures released Thursday to the state’s Gaming Control Board.

The total September take for Harrah’s Casino at New Orleans, the 13 riverboat casinos around the state and four slot-machine operations at horse tracks was nearly $197 million, compared to about $186 million in August and a similar amount in September 2010.

Not all the riverboat casinos saw an uptick in their revenue. One of the strongest increases was at L’Auberge Du Lac in Lake Charles, which continues to be a popular casino resort with gamblers.
