Teche Federal Band is expanding operations in Thibodaux to include a new branch office at 921 Canal Boulevard, bank President/CEO Patrick Little announced.

“This new Teche Federal Bank facility in Thibodaux demonstrates the bank’s commitment to Lafourche Parish,” he said.

While construction is under way, Little said the temporary bank site located on the front of the property will remain open.

“(The new facility) will enable Teche Federal Bank to better serve customers in Thibodaux in one of the highest growth areas in Lafourche Parish,” the bank president said. “We have so many customers coming to this office that we need a larger, improved facility to provide the great service our customers have come to expect from Teche Federal.”

Teche Federal Bank first opened in Thibodaux in 1998. The Canal Boulevard site opened in October 2004.

The expansion has drawn positive feedback from bank customers.

“Our customers are pleased with the announcement of the new office and we look forward to providing even better service and the ability to accommodate even more customers,” said Angie Mire, regional branch supervisor.

Teche also announced plans for additional growth in Terrebonne Parish, with two new branches opening in Houma. A branch will be located in the Martin Luther King area, near accessory world, Little said. Property has also been purchased at the corner of Grand Caillou and Jane avenues for a Houma East site.

Little said the current Houma branch on Prospect Street will be combined with the new Grand Caillou location.

Teche Federal Bank, founded in 1934, is a well-established financial institution with a seventy-two year history in mortgage lending and a very successful eleven-year track record in community banking services, Little said.

Teche Federal presently operates 19 offices in the Louisiana parishes of St. Mary, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Martin, Terrebonne, Lafourche, St. Landry East Baton Rouge and Ascension. Teche Holding Company has been publicly traded since 1995 and its common stock symbol is “TSH” on the American Stock Exchange. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insures deposits at Teche Federal Bank up to the legal maximum limits.
