The Louisiana Oil and Gas Political Action Committee (LOGPAC) announced their endorsement today for Lafourche Parish President.

The group announced in a statement that they will back Republican Luci Sposito (R-Thibodaux) for the position.

Sposito is one of three candidates running for Parish President in Lafourche. The winner will replace incumbent Jimmy Cantrelle, who announced recently he will not seek a second term.

Also running are Republicans Archie Chaisson III, (R-Lockport) and Joe Fertitta (R-Thibodaux).

In the statement, LOGPAC says Sposito will be a champion for the oil and gas industry, if elected.

“The oil and gas industry is vital to the health of our coastal communities,” said Gifford Briggs, Executive Director of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Political Action Committee. “Luci will be a champion for the oil and gas industry and fight to create an environment in which the industry can succeed as it once did. Mrs. Sposito has been a fantastic voice for our industry on the parish council and we look forward to her bringing that passion for oil and gas jobs and families to the role of Parish President.”
