Today, the Louisiana Department of Health is reporting the total number of cases has risen to 315,275. That’s 4,051 more cases since yesterday. 285,477 are confirmed; 29,798 are probable.

 

The state is reporting 40 new deaths, bringing the total to 7,488 deaths. 7,115 are confirmed; 373 are probable.

 

The total of presumed recovered as of 12/28/20 is 263,712, which is 16,211 more than last week.


 

Lafourche Parish is reporting 6,250 cases. There are 5,335 confirmed and 915 probable. That’s 43 new cases since yesterday. They are reporting 162 deaths; 154 are confirmed and 8 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 17-23 is 7.70%, down 10.50% from the week prior, which was 8.60%. Incidence is 235.44.

 

Terrebonne Parish is reporting 6,260 cases. There are 5,534 confirmed and 726 probable. That’s 136 more cases since yesterday. They are reporting 149 deaths; 142 are confirmed and 7 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 17-23 is 11.60%, up 10.50% from the week prior, which was 10.50%. Incidence is 292.74.

 

Statewide, there are 1,731 COVID-19 patients in hospitals, 202 are on ventilators. That’s 14 more patients since yesterday, and 8 fewer on ventilators.


 

The total of tests reported today is 4,400,149, which is 32,607 more tests than yesterday. There are 4,184,384 molecular tests and 215,765 antigen tests.

 

There have been a total of 79,672 tests in Lafourche (73,764 molecular and 5,908 antigen) and 76,998 tests in Terrebonne (72,848 molecular and 4,150 antigen). That’s 629 more tests in Lafourche and 569 more in Terrebonne since yesterday.
