Today, the Louisiana Department of Health is reporting the total number of cases has risen to 341,431. That’s 3,372 more cases since yesterday. 306,442 are confirmed; 34,989 are probable.

 

The state is reporting 105 new deaths, bringing the total to 7,833 deaths. 7,411 are confirmed; 422 are probable.

 

The total of presumed recovered as of 1/4/21 is 280,373, which is 16,661 more than last week.


 

Lafourche Parish is reporting, 6,792 cases. There are 5,651 confirmed and 1,141 probable. That’s 134 new cases since yesterday. They are reporting 164 deaths; 156 are confirmed and 8 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 24-30 is 10.70%, up 35.44% from the week prior, which was 7.90%. Incidence is 320.03.

 

Terrebonne Parish is reporting 6,974 cases. There are 5,996 confirmed and 978 probable. That’s 160 more cases since yesterday. They are reporting 155 deaths; 146 are confirmed and 9 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 24-30 is 16.20%, up 36.13% from the week prior, which was 11.90%. Incidence is 353.99.

 

Statewide, there are 2,069 COVID-19 patients in hospitals, 220 are on ventilators. That’s 36 more patients since yesterday, and 1 more on ventilators.


 

The total of tests reported today is 4,608,847, which is 33,809 more tests than yesterday. There are 4,364,269 molecular tests and 244,578 antigen tests.

 

There have been a total of 83,596 tests in Lafourche (76,569 molecular and 7,027 antigen) and 81,587 tests in Terrebonne (76,467 molecular and 5,120 antigen). That’s 870 more tests in Lafourche and 974 more in Terrebonne since yesterday.
