Laws regarding child car seats change in Louisiana on Aug. 1.

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office wants to make sure that your child's seat is in accordance with the new laws in place.

LPSO is hosting two events to properly install carseats for locals to make sure that they're in compliance with laws passed in the State Legislative Session that go into effect on Aug. 1.

The first event will be held on July 20 at the Walmart in Mathews. The second will be on July 27 at the Walmart in Thibodaux.

Both events will be from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.

An event was scheduled for this weekend at the Galliano Walmart, but it has been canceled due to the tropical system in the Gulf.
