August 1, 2019TPSO dispatchers certified for life-saving protocol
August 1, 2019Today is the day that child safety seat laws go into effect in Louisiana.
The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office sent out a reminder to parents today that non-compliance could subject someone to tickets, as law enforcement officers now must enforce the new rules passed in Baton Rouge earlier this year.
Among the changes are:
– Children under 2 MUST ride in rear-facing safety seats
– Children must be in a booster seat until at LEAST 9 years or until they can pass the 5-step test.
-All children under 13 must sit in a rear seat when available.

LPSO sent out graphics which show an easy to read version of the new law as well as an illustration of the 5-step test.
