Mandatory evacuation ordered for lower Dularge

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Jerry Larpenter has ordered a mandatory evacuation of lower Dularge from the Falgout Canal southward due to the overtopping of a levee that protects the area.

Sheriff’s Office personnel and firefighters are in the area announcing the evacuations and determining special needs for transportation.

If anyone lives below the Falgout Canal, please leave the area immediately.

Please be aware that an overtopping IS NOT a breach or a break in the levee.

It simply means that more water has come up over the top of the levee’s height.
