Sheriff Tim Soignet’s newly-improved, easy-to-navigate website www.tpso.net was designed to help the public find important information with greater ease than ever before.

But a few features are worth a visit just for a smile, or to get a deeper understanding of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office operations.

Among these is the K-9 Division’s special page, which not only describes the purpose the division serves, but comes with an added bonus.

Each of the four-legged deputies (the dogs were sworn in July 1, just like their handlers) has a section of the page devoted to him or her. In some cases the K-9 blurbs are in the voices of the dogs themselves (although we suspect they had some help.)

“The dogs and their handlers provide crucial services to the people of Terrebonne Parish and local law enforcement,” Sheriff Soignet said. “It’s my hope that people will get a lot out of the website overall, but I especially recommend a visit to the K-9 page.

The new website was designed and implemented at Sheriff Soignet’s request by Cpl. Philip Crabtree, a veteran road patrol deputy who has distinguished himself over years of service. Cpl. Crabtree has other talents which include professional photography and a proclivity for web design. Capt. Peter Guidry, whose duties include supervision of Information Technology, oversees the platform with help from his IT team at the TPSO Motor Pool.

“I have tremendous faith in this entire team,” Sheriff Soignet said. “I am particularly grateful to Cpl. Crabtree, who managed to get this project done in a short amount of time, while still performing his patrol functions. His work will benefit this agency and the public we serve for many years to come.”

Profiles of the K-9s include this entry by Jaeger, four-legged partner of Dy. Dillon Condetti: “When I’m at work I’m mostly quiet so I remind my partner that I’m in the vehicle by screaming as loud as possible anytime he’s about to do a traffic stop or is getting out of the unit!”

To access the K-9 profiles go to https://www.tpso.net/the-k9. While you’re there, feel free to examine the services and information available on the entire site.
