Dear Nicholls Nation,

Despite the devastating impact of the COVID-19 virus on collegiate communities around the United States, the Nicholls State University Athletics Department and our numerous programs have worked tirelessly to weather the storm and emerge prepared to contend once again at the highest levels of NCAA competition.

In spite of our efforts, the spring 2021 football season will feature just three home games, two short of the originally scheduled five contests promised to our season ticket holders when they renewed following last year’s championship run. As such, every season ticket holder is entitled to a balance we are prepared to refund; however, before making this decision, we ask that you consider donating said balance to the Colonel Athletic Association Excellence Fund, a branch of Nicholls Athletics dedicated to assisting each and every one of our sports in their drive towards success.

Our student-athletes have put in the time and effort to make competition this coming spring a reality for every one of our athletic programs, but there remain obstacles to overcome. The financial stress COVID-19 has placed upon our department has handicapped our ability to serve our student-athletes at the level we believe they deserve, so I ask you to consider, as you have so many times before, reinvesting in Nicholls Athletics as part of our ongoing Continue to C.L.I.M.B. fundraising campaign.

Athletics departments nationwide have felt a severe impact due to COVID-19 over the past half-year, as the cancellation of the 2020 NCAA Men’s & Women’s Basketball Tournaments, the loss of every spring sports’ regular season and the disruption of typical training and recruiting schedules have cut deep into our bottom lines. As we work towards the spring 2021 football season, the department has suffered additional financial setbacks, including the loss of multiple money games, weekly COVID-19 testing for our student-athletes and the forced reduction of capacity at John L. Guidry Stadium.

With your assistance, generosity and support, Nicholls Athletics will have the opportunity to provide continued access to the highest level of collegiate competition for our student-athletes. As such, we are asking that each season ticket holder consider donating their tax-deductible refund to the CAA Excellence Fund as part of our Continue to C.L.I.M.B. fundraising campaign. Every dollar makes a difference to these student-athletes, and we appreciate your consideration and future support for the Red & Gray.

For those still interested in receiving a refund, the expected potential amounts are as follows:
— Premium Chairback Refund Amount: $60.00 per seat
— General Admission Refund Amount: $24.00 per seat
— Suite Refund Amount: $100.00 per seat

For any questions or ticketing inquiries, please contact the ticket office at 985-448-4790.

Respectfully,

Jonathan Terrell
Director of Athletics
