The Nicholls State University women’s basketball team defeated rival Northwestern State 68-38 last night in Stopher Gymnasium.
The 38 points allowed tied for the fifth-fewest in the program’s history.
The offense once again received a boost from sophomore Chelsea Cain, who scored a game-high 22 points. She also grabbed 11 rebounds and added three steals.
Junior Anna McKendree and redshirt sophomore Adrian Mann combined for 28 points.
With the win, the Colonels improve to 4-7 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
Nicholls still seeks its first road win and will take on Central Arkansas in Conway on Saturday, Jan. 16. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
