Name: Meghan Philp

Town: I am from Houma, but I live in Belmont, North Carolina now for school

Family: Just my mom and me.

Profession: I am an intern with the Charlotte Independence, a pro soccer team here in North Carolina.

QUESTIONS:

What is a talent you have few people know about? I’m a drummer. I really enjoy playing the drums.

If you had to spend a year on a deserted island, what one thing would you take along? My phone. Or maybe a soccer ball would be more practical, considering that my phone would die.

You’re a multi-million dollar lotto winner. What are you going to do? I would buy my mom a house here in North Carolina and I’d get her a new car. Then, I’d open up my own soccer club or soccer store, put some in savings and then give the rest to charity.

Who is your role model? Why? My role model is my mom because she is the most loving and caring person. She would do anything for anyone without asking for anything in return. She’s that kind of person.

If you were a superhero, who would you be and what would your super power be? I would be the flash!

TV show guilty pleasure? That’d probably be Sons of Anarchy. That’s one that I’ve always had a hard time turning off.

Proudest moment? Winning the prep soccer State Championship when I was at Vandebilt Catholic High School. That, or winning the Conference Championship here in college.

What’s on your nightstand? A lamp, a planner, a pen and a cup.

How do you friends describe you? I’d think they’d describe me as athletic, outgoing, caring and also funny or sarcastic.

Describe your dream adventure? My dream adventure would be traveling the world to see all of the places that I’ve never been to. That would be perfect to me.

I wish I could do ____________ better. Cooking.

Describe your dream job. My dream job would be to play professional soccer. I’ve played the sport for my whole life. To do that as a job would be amazing.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A professional athlete

What was your best gift ever? The car my mom got for me, because without it, I wouldn’t have been able to do my internship in North Carolina this summer.
