The Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government Section 8 Rental Assistance Program will accept applications from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Applications can be obtained at the Houma Municipal Auditorium, 880 Verret Street, Houma, LA 70360.

 

Only 500 applications will be accepted and income verification must be provided by the applicant and attached to the application. Eligibility guidelines are as follows:

If an applicant qualifies for one of the following local preferences, documentation may be submitted with the application. Applicants must supply their own copies. Local preferences are as follows:

  • Working. Head, spouse, or sole member of the household. Document with check stubs for the past three months.
  • Disabled. Head of household or any household member. Document with Social Security award letter or statement from a physician.
  • Local Residency. Head of the household. Document with current State of LA photo ID stating current physical address. A P.O. box is not sufficient for the local preference.
  • Honorably Discharged Veteran. Head of the household. Document with discharge papers.

The Section 8 Rental Assistance Program is not an emergency assistance program. All eligible applications will be placed on the Section 8 waiting list by local preferences and date/time of receipt.
