Today, the Louisiana Department of Health is reporting the total number of cases has risen to 348,234. That’s 1,402 more cases since the weekend. 312,290 are confirmed; 35,944 are probable.

 

The state is reporting 45 new deaths, bringing the total to 7,918 deaths. 7,489 are confirmed; 429 are probable.

 

The total of presumed recovered as of 1/4/21 is 280,373, which is 16,661 more than last week.


 

Lafourche Parish is reporting, 6,952 cases. There are 5,727 confirmed and 1,225 probable. That’s 81 new cases since the weekend. They are reporting 166 deaths; 158 are confirmed and 8 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 24-30 is 10.70%, up 35.44% from the week prior, which was 7.90%. Incidence is 320.03.

 

Terrebonne Parish is reporting 7,148 cases. There are 6,141 confirmed and 1,007 probable. That’s 48 more cases since the weekend. They are reporting 156 deaths; 147 are confirmed and 9 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 24-30 is 16.20%, up 36.13% from the week prior, which was 11.90%. Incidence is 353.99.

 

Statewide, there are 1,982 COVID-19 patients in hospitals, 232 are on ventilators. That’s 22 more patients since the weekend, and 7 more on ventilators.


 

The total of tests reported today is 4,674,395, which is 13,254 more tests than the weekend. There are 4,422,803 molecular tests and 251,592 antigen tests.

 

There have been a total of 85,148 tests in Lafourche (77,764 molecular and 7,384 antigen) and 83,041 tests in Terrebonne (77,816 molecular and 5,225 antigen). That’s 547 more tests in Lafourche and 290 more in Terrebonne since the weekend.
