In an effort to combat impaired driving in our area, Louisiana State Police Troop C, in partnership with the Thibodaux Police Department, the Nicholls State University Police Department, the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, plans to conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Thursday, December 30, 2021, from approximately 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location in Lafourche Parish. Our mission is to detect and arrest impaired drivers before they cause injury or death to themselves or others.

Motorists are encouraged to never drive impaired and to designate a sober driver before consuming any alcohol. To report impaired drivers, motorists should dial *LSP (*577) to reach the nearest Louisiana State Police troop location or dial 911 to contact local law enforcement.

Support and funding for this checkpoint are provided through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
