START Corporation will open the waitlist and accept applications for Section 811 housing programs on August 10.
The program will only be offered on August 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Programs include Taddy Village (411 Bayou Garden Blvd, Houma), Larke Village (186 James Aitkens St., Houma), and Sunshine Village (2600 Mary Dr., Slidell). To apply, applications can be dropped off at Taddy Village or Sunshine Village, faxed to (985) 333-1931, or emailed to hud811application@startcorp.org.
All units are one-bedroom apartments and applicants must be 18 years or older and have a disability. The program is part of the HUD Section 811 Program. Applications are processed in the order they are received and applications will only be accepted during the period the waiting list is open. The organization urges no to call Start Corporation to apply.
