Today, the Louisiana Department of Health is reporting the total number of cases has risen to 322,181. That’s 1,190 more cases since yesterday. 292,184 are confirmed; 29,997 are probable.

 

The state is reporting 48 new deaths, bringing the total to 7,585 deaths. 7,198 are confirmed; 387 are probable.

 

The total of presumed recovered as of 12/28/20 is 263,712, which is 16,211 more than last week.


 

Lafourche Parish is reporting 6,388 cases. There are 5,441 confirmed and 947 probable. That’s 19 new cases since yesterday. They are reporting 164 deaths; 156 are confirmed and 8 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 17-23 is 7.70%, down 10.50% from the week prior, which was 8.60%. Incidence is 235.44.

 

Terrebonne Parish is reporting 6,444 cases. There are 5,712 confirmed and 732 probable. That’s 31 more cases since yesterday. They are reporting 151 deaths; 144 are confirmed and 7 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 17-23 is 11.60%, up 10.50% from the week prior, which was 10.50%. Incidence is 292.74.

 

Statewide, there are 1,891 COVID-19 patients in hospitals, 207 are on ventilators. That’s 58 more patients since yesterday, and 3 more on ventilators.


 

The total of tests reported today is 4,453,631, which is 9,562 more tests than yesterday. There are 4,235,762 molecular tests and 217,869 antigen tests.

 

There have been a total of 80,847 tests in Lafourche (74,806 molecular and 6,041 antigen) and 78,480 tests in Terrebonne (74,285 molecular and 4,195 antigen). That’s 131 more tests in Lafourche and 199 more in Terrebonne since yesterday.
