May 13, 2016Still haven’t filed your 2015 Louisiana individual income tax returns? Time is running out. Monday is the deadline.
The Louisiana Department of Revenue is urging taxpayers to file electronically to ensure fast, error-free tax return processing. The state offers a free tax filing web application, Louisiana File Online, at www.revenue.louisiana.gov/fileonline.
Through the online app, taxpayers are able to file returns, make payments and upload required documentation.
Taxpayers who need additional time preparing their returns also have until Monday to submit an extension request to avoid late-filing penalties. An extension only allows more time to file a return. Tax payments are still due May 16, and are subject to penalties and interest if submitted late. Visit www.revenue.louisiana.gov/extensions to request an extension.
