Today, the Louisiana Department of Health is reporting the total number of cases has risen to 338,054. That’s 4,526 more cases since yesterday. 303,889 are confirmed; 34,165 are probable.

 

The state is reporting 47 new deaths, bringing the total to 7,728 deaths. 7,319 are confirmed; 409 are probable.

 

The total of presumed recovered as of 1/4/21 is 280,373, which is 16,661 more than last week.


 

Lafourche Parish is reporting, 6,658 cases. There are 5,616 confirmed and 1,042 probable. That’s 41 new cases since yesterday. They are reporting 163 deaths; 155 are confirmed and 8 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 24-30 is 10.70%, up 35.44% from the week prior, which was 7.90%. Incidence is 320.03.

 

Terrebonne Parish is reporting 6,814 cases. There are 5,915 confirmed and 899 probable. That’s 83 more cases since yesterday. They are reporting 154 deaths; 146 are confirmed and 8 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 24-30 is 16.20%, up 36.13% from the week prior, which was 11.90%. Incidence is 353.99.

 

Statewide, there are 2,033 COVID-19 patients in hospitals, 219 are on ventilators. That’s 40 more patients since yesterday, and 12 more on ventilators.


 

The total of tests reported today is 4,575,038, which is 37,942 more tests than yesterday. There are 4,335,284 molecular tests and 239,754 antigen tests.

 

There have been a total of 82,726 tests in Lafourche (76,064 molecular and 6,662 antigen) and 80,613 tests in Terrebonne (75,826 molecular and 4,787 antigen). That’s 624 more tests in Lafourche and 890 more in Terrebonne since yesterday.
