A missing license plate turned into more serious weapon and drug possession charges for a Houma teen Thursday night.

Houma Police stopped Jocobby Lee, 19, of 2618 Daniel Turner Court, around 8:35 p.m. after Officer Thomas Rhodes noticed the car ahead of him in the Houma Tunnel did not have a license plate. He stopped the 1995 Ford Crown Victoria on Aycock Street, police said.

Rhodes found a hand-rolled cigar paper containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, a loaded handgun, a clear plastic bag containing several pieces of suspected crack cocaine and over $500 in cash.

Lee was arrested for operating a vehicle with no license plate, possession of marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, and possession of a firearm in the presence of narcotics. He was transported to the Terrebonne Parish Jail.

Police said the crack cocaine weighed approximately 9 grams, and has a street value of over $900. The suspected marijuana weighed approximately 4.8 grams.
