“How much is that doggy in the window?”

Well, this Saturday, he’s only $25!

The Terrebonne Parish Animal Shelter announced that they will participate in the “Clear the Shelters” event this Saturday, August 17.  For this one day event, adoptions will be $15 for all cats and $25 for dogs.

“We are excited to join shelters across the country in an effort to ‘clear the shelters’ and hope that spreading the word about adoptions will aid in finding homes for our loving shelter animals”, said Valerie Robinson, Animal Shelter Manager.

Adopted animals are provided with the following:

  • health exam
  • vaccinations
  • dewormer
  • appropriate testing
  • microchip (including registration)
  • spay/neuter
  • 1 mo. supply of flea prevention
  • 1 mo. supply of heartworm prevention (dogs)
  • Starter bag of Hill’s Science Diet food

The shelter is open for adoptions this Saturday from 10:00am to 2:00pm.  The shelter will not be open for intake on the Saturday. Weekday hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Dozens of animals are currently available for adoption at the Terrebonne Parish Animal Shelter.  Pictures of some of the adoptable animals can be found on the shelter’s facebook page, www.adoptapet.com, and Petfinder.com.
