The Terrebonne Foundation for Academic Excellence (TFAE) announced this week that grant applications for the 2019-20 school year are now available. 

Since its inception, TFAE has awarded more than $1 million in grant dollars to Terrebonne Parish public school teachers. In the past school year alone, TFAE funded $95,000 of classroom supplies, technology, educational programs and innovative projects. 

The deadline to apply for the grants is Aug. 31, 2019, and the grants available are below. 


Innovative Ed-Venture Grants:

TFAE Innovative Ed-Venture Grants are designed to encourage teachers to incorporate innovative, educational and developmental activities into their classroom curriculum to provide students with an exciting approach to the learning process. There is no limit to the amount a teacher can request for this grant. 

New Teacher Grants:


The New Teacher Grant allows teachers to stock their classroom with the supplies they need to get their classroom ready for students. Teachers who meet the criteria can submit one grant application for up to $500. Teachers who may apply include teachers new to TPSD within the past 3 years, new to a subject within the past 3 years or those who are new to a grade level or school within the last 3 years. 

Bayou Board of REALTORS® Journey to Careers Grants:

Teachers of the Journey to Careers class may apply for the Journeys to Careers Grant where two, $400 grants will be awarded. The purpose of the grant is to enhance the learning environment and education of students in the Journeys to Careers classes.


Deadline to apply is Aug. 31, 2019.
