Terrebonne General Medical Center is implementing its Emergency Preparedness Plan with Tropical Storm Barry in the Gulf.

The hospital said the plan best allows them to ensure the safety of patients, staff and the physical facilities during emergency situations.

Hospital President and CEO Phyllis Peoples said the hospital is ready to continue serving the public with the storm near.

“The hospital is taking all necessary precautions at this time and is evaluating all services to prepare the organization according to our emergency preparedness plan,” Peoples said.

TGMC anticipates business as usual on Friday, July 12 and through the weekend.

The hospital wants to emphasize that TGMC is NOT a special needs shelter during a storm.

Special needs patients should contact the Louisiana Office of Public Health.
