“I am blessed to have had a fulfilling life thus far and am anxious to see what the future has in store for me. I was born and raised in Houma and have two older siblings, a brother and a sister. We enjoy traveling with our Mom and Dad to visit family members who live out-of-state. We also enjoy family vacations to the beach, the mountains, and various states. We spend time together riding bikes, going for walks, cooking outside, entertaining family and friends, playing our instruments in the orchestra, and attending retreats.
Doing well in school is rewarding and is one main key to a successful future. I have always strived to do my best and to stay actively involved. Although I like all subjects in school, I especially love English classes, because I enjoy writing, reading, and journaling. I also like playing my French horn in my high school band and at community events. This gives me opportunities to share my talents with others.
I have been afforded the opportunity to receive a Catholic education and have enjoyed every minute of it. I am an active member of and on the executive board of the student government organization and many clubs. Among my favorites are Sisters in Christ, Campus Ministry, and the Honor Society. All of these clubs give me opportunities to help people in the community and beyond our areas. I enjoy serving as a leader and setting great examples for my peers. Two of my fondest memories are of the two mission trips I was able to participate in during the past two years. I plan to travel back to Jamaica this summer and hope to attend many more mission trips in the near future.

I will be attending Nicholls State University in the fall and will major in speech pathology. I have always known that I wanted a career in something that I could help people in all stages of life, and I have found that calling. I will be able to work in hospitals doing rehab therapy, in schools servicing children, or in nursing homes working with the elderly. It is a perfect career for me! While at Nicholls, I plan to be an active member of the Colonel Catholics and the Student Government Association so that I can continue my service to others. After receiving my undergraduate degree, I will need to apply for colleges to obtain a master’s degree in order to practice as a speech pathologist. Music has been a large part of my family, and I intend on continuing to share my musical talents with others as I continue my involvement with the Houma Community Orchestra.

I am excited to embark on the next phases of my life. I have thoroughly enjoyed high school and all of the opportunities it has presented to me. I took advantage of every one of them and will miss these years. However, I am elated to begin the college courses that will lead me to my career in speech pathology!”
