Thibodaux woman, whose flight home from China was cancelled due to coronavirus, says she is staying unless the situation gets worse.

Francesca D’Agostino, an English teacher in China who is from Thibodaux, shared that her school was closed because of the coronavirus, so she booked a flight home. That flight was also cancelled because of the coronavirus.

“Yes, my flight was cancelled and I felt safe enough in China as my city is quite far from the epicenter of the virus,” D’Agostino said in an interview over the weekend. “So I decided to just stay until my work starts back up again.”

There are few airports accepting flights from China now, she said, and travel is very expensive.

“If the situation escalates more, I will return home,” she said.
