The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office has issued an Overt Patrol Order, in reference to the area of tropical weather in the Gulf.

This means that as of 6 a.m. tomorrow morning, patrol units on streets and highways in Terrebonne will double so that deputies can monitor the area and ensure people are safe as the weather nears.

“This plan will allow us to better respond to emergencies, and will place us in a better strategic position for any high water rescues should they be needed,” said Col. Terry Daigre, TPSO’s Chief Deputy. “Right now we are watching to see what this weather system will do. It is our hope that all people in our parish have made plans to protect lives and property, should bad conditions occur.. We have prepared all special emergency vehicles and equipment for responses, should they be needed.”

Anyone needing additional information on TPSO’s preparedness actions is asked to go to www.tpso.net.

If in need of emergency assistance, TPSO asks residents to call 911.
