Terrebonne Parish sheriff Jerry Larpenter said an investigation is ongoing following a double murder discovered last Tuesday near downtown Houma.

At approximately 1:38 p.m. Sept. 18 a 911 call was received by the sheriff’s office regarding the finding of two bodies inside a residence at 7054 Park Ave.

The bodies of two subjects were located inside of a residence appeared to be victims of a double homicide, according to Larpenter said. Both subjects suffered from gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

The shooting victims were identified as Alyce Chauvin, 24, and 29-year-old Troy Hebert, both of Houma.

“Detectives are investigating this incident at this time,” Larpenter said.

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office has asked that anyone with information related to this incident call (985) 876-2500.

People with usable information may also call Crime Stoppers, (877) 743-7433, and become eligible for a cash reward.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward up to $1,000 for anyone who has information that leads to the arrest of a suspect. The caller does not have to give their names in order to receive the reward.

Larpenter said additional details will be released at a later time.

On Monday, the sheriff said detectives were continuing to gather forensics and interviews were ongoing, and the department was not ready to announce a suspect in the crime.
