The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office has set a 12-hour curfew beginning late tonight and ending tomorrow morning.
Sheriff Jerry Larpenter announced the curfew this afternoon, saying that it will last from 10 p.m. tonight and last through 10 a.m. tomorrow morning (July 13).
The curfew has been approved by Parish President Gordon Dove, as well.
TPSO says the reason for the curfew is to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens because extremely high winds and severe rains are expected during those hours as Barry nears his landfall.
During the curfew, only emergency personnel vehicles will be allowed on local roadways.
If the curfew has to be extended, TPSO will announce it and release it to the public.
