UPDATE: Escaped inmate now back in custody

Authorities have identified the body of a missing 23-year-old Raceland man who had been reported missing since Sunday.
Chad Turner, of 252 Williams St., has been last seen around 9 p.m. Sunday when he left a Thibodaux residence heading to Club Hot Spot, which is located at 1303 St. Charles St.
Webre said Turner’s vehicle was found Tuesday abandoned along La. Highway 308 in Assumption Parish. Assumption deputies searched near the vehicle, but did not find Turner.
On Wednesday afternoon, a body was found in Thibodaux, and a few hours later, authorities were able to identify it as Turner.
LPSO said it would release no further details right now, but confirmed it’s investigating the case.
