Vandebilt Catholic High School raised over $56,000 through the Terrier Tailgate and La Carreta “Kickoff” dining donations proving there’s nothing like Terrier pride!

The school said the funds will be used to support and supplement campus repair costs that were caused by Hurricane Ida. They gave their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported the school so far.

Betsy Breerwood, VCHS Director of Annual Giving and Major Events, said, “Our community has faced some very challenging times with COVID-19 and Hurricane Ida, and Vandebilt Catholic High School is so fortunate to have loyal and generous supporters to help us continue our mission of providing an excellent education rooted in religious values to our students.” She said they have not been able to host the Terrier Tailgate event in person for the last two years, but they pulled together to create an online auction. “Terrier Tailgate would not be successful without our many sponsors, volunteers, auction item donors, and bidders,” she said, ”This event is truly a team effort, and I am so thankful to have the opportunity to work with the Vandebilt Catholic community.”

Jeremy Gueldner, VCHS President, said the last two months have been difficult “We have been working diligently to repair our facilities and provide our students and faculty with a safe return to school,” he said, “ With the significant damage to our campus, we are so thankful to have events like Terrier Tailgate to help supplement expenses.  While there is still much work to be done on our campus and in our community, I am confident that Vandebilt Catholic will emerge from this stronger than ever before.”
