Officials will seek community input as they launch the Terrebonne Parish Vision 2030 comprehensive plan with a public meeting on Monday, May 16, in the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center at 6 p.m.

“We want to have insight from as many residents as possible as we move forward,” said Terrebonne Parish Planning and Zoning Director Pat Gordon. “Our consultant team is currently finalizing details regarding how the plan will be developed based on community input.”

Terrebonne Parish Vision 2030 is a comprehensive communication effort for future planning. It involves a network of public information distribution that ranges from business and churches to flyers and Facebook. Established news outlets are asked to serve as primary distributors of information about the parish.

“[The] important factor is making sure residents remain informed,” Gordon said. “We want to make sure everyone has a chance to receive updates and offer additional suggestions.”

Vision 2030 began with the establishment of a project website, which became operational last Monday at www.tpcg.org. The intention is to receive community comments regarding planning and zoning efforts and improvements.
