Lafourche Parish President Jimmy Cantrelle has issued a voluntary evacuation for parish residents located south of the Leon Theriot Flood Gates.
The evacuation is as of 4 p.m. today for the low-lying southern most natives of Lafourche, the area not protected by the parish’s ring levee system.
Lafourche Parish officials say they will continue to monitor the storm and will update residents as new information becomes available.
