South Lafourche Biddy Basketball will be busy this weekend.

The organization is hosting the Biddy Basketball Girls International Championships for the U8, U10 and U12 divisions – a multi-day event which lasts until next Wednesday.

To kick the event off, a WNBA star and LSU legend will be on hand to talk about how wonderful career.

SL Biddy announced on Wednesday that LSU great Temeka Johnson will be at the tournament’s opening ceremonies, set for tomorrow at the Cut Off Youth Center.

Johnson is well known around the world. At LSU, she was a multi-time All-American and the SEC’s all-time leader in assists.

In the pros, Johnson also thrived, playing 10-plus WNBA seasons and earning a championship with the Phoenix Mercury.

Off the floor, Johnson likes to give back. She is the founder of the HOPE Foundation and the author of children’s books. She is also a former Biddy standout who played for JPRD-East as a child, twice earning Ms. Biddy honors.

Opening ceremonies are set to begin at 6:30 p.m.

Johnson will speak after the opening address and the teams are introduced.
