Adam Nix “Donkey” Blanchard Sr., 81, a native of Grosse Tete, LA. and resident of Mathews, LA., died at 3:35 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Mathews. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Raceland, LA.


He is survived by his wife, Theresa Ann Blanchard; one son, Adam “Nicky” Blanchard Jr.; two daughters, Stella B. Folse and husband, Terry J. Folse, and Misty N. Blanchard; one brother, Harold Paul Blanchard; one niece, Marilynn B. Keowen; one nephew, Thomas Ovelo Blanchard; three grandchildren, Celeste D. Terrebonne, Kristie D. Uzee and Jared A. Blanchard; two step-grandchildren, Chad M. Folse and Ben J. Folse; five great-grandchildren, Joshua, Lauren and Justin Berry, Levin Uzee and Callie Blanchard; and three step-great-grandchildren, Taylor, Marlie and Mia Folse.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Stella Orillion Blanchard; one son, Gregory Anthony Blanchard; four brothers, Ovelo, Lloyd, Joseph C. and William P. Blanchard; and one sister, Eunice Blanchard.

He was Catholic.
