Jail woes continue in Lafourche Parish with tax on hold – for now

May 16, 2011Adelia Singleton, 57, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, May 3, 2011.
Mrs. Singleton was a member of St. Mark Church.
She is survived by her sons, Sherman (Yolanda) Singleton and Leland Neville; daughter, Melanie (Roland Jr.) VanBuren; brother, Jerome Singleton; sisters, Joyce Williams, Ethel Stewart, Geraldine Jenkins and Shirley Collins; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Isiah Singleton Sr.; brothers, Isiah Jr., John and Rudy Singleton; and sisters, Barbara Delandro, Lucille Gray and Lorraine Robinson.
She is buried at Union Benevolent Cemetery. (Community)
