Adeline “Deanie” Bascle Falgout, 92, a lifelong resident of Bourg, La., went to her eternal rest, Sunday, January 18 at 1:30 p.m.


She is survived by her children, Jewell and husband Roy Breaux Jr., Miriam Falgout Sampey, Rhonda and husband Gary Boquet, Charlene and husband Jeff Freiwald, Nolan “Tommy” Falgout Jr., Errol Falgout and wife Gale, Lionel Falgout and wife Denise; daughter-in-law, Deborah Falgout; son-in-law, Dale Lawrence Charpentier; sister, Joyce Guidry; 29 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Nolan “Dogree” Falgout Sr.; son, Glen Joseph Falgout; daughter Cynthia Falgout Charpentier; great-grandchildren Lea Breaux and Heather Charpentier; mother, Alice Walker Bascle; father Lionel P. Bascle; sisters, Bernice Whipple, Amelia Whipple and Mamie Shane; and brothers, Harold and Vayne Bascle.

She was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg and a member of the Ladies Altar Society. She was also a charter member of the Bourg Lioness Auxiliary, and loved to play bingo. On Sunday her home was always visited by family for a cup of coffee and conversation while gathered around her swing in the backyard.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 21, at the Bourg Community Center. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ann Catholic Church.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
