Adolph V. “Scoppy” Lorio, 92, a lifelong resident of Hahnville, La., died at 8:50 p.m. Saturday, May 31.


He is survived by his wife, Ida Gassen Lorio; sons, Wendell Joseph Lorio Sr. and Dale Victor Lorio; daughters-in-law, Juanita B. Lorio and Charlotte M. Lorio; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donatien Lorio and Ophelia Schexnayder Lorio; brothers, Merrile, Eddie, Theodore and Wilford Lorio; and sisters, Lillian L. Webre and Fiedel L. Madere.

He was retired from Shell Chemical Co., was a retired Lt. Col. in the U.S. Air Force and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, Air Metal and group Presidential Citation. He was a longtime member of the American Legion Post No. 131 and was an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and served as Eucharistic minister.
