Adrain Pickering, 76, born in Myers, Miss., and longtime resident of Bayou L’Ourse, La., died Friday, April 22, 2011.


Mr. Pickering was a family man who always provided for his family. He enjoyed family gatherings, teaching his sons and grandchildren to hunt, fish and grow up strong and loving. He worked as a crane operator for most of his life and made many friends in the oilfield. His love of gardening helped feed his family and share with neighbors.


He is survived by his wife, Emelie; sons, James (Karla) and Steve (Sherry) Pickering; daughter, Tina (Dale) Hebert; brothers, Hershel and Gerald Pickering; sister, Doris Williams; six grandchildren, Kevin and Curtis Pickering, T. J. Daigle, Jami Pickering, Savannah Galloway and Leah Dan Pickering; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Cleora Sullivan Pickering; one sister; and three brothers.

Mr. Pickering’s wish was to be cremated with a private family service. (Hargrave)
