Albert “Butsie” Breaux, 80, a native and lifelong resident of Bayou Blue, La., died at 2:40 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010.


Mr. Breaux was an usher at St. Louis Catholic Church in Bayou Blue for more than 45 years, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his two godchildren, Tessie Guidroz and Jimmy Breaux; brothers, Roy and Ray Breaux; sister, Lea Bergeron; caregivers, Lea Bergeron and her two daughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Joseph and Stella Trahan Breaux; and sister, Marion Trahan.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Bayou Blue. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.

He will be buried at St. Anthony Cemetery in Bayou Black.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.
