Tri-parishes exceed state test scores

June 6, 2011Alberta A. Turner, 92, a native of Chauvin, La., and resident of Baker, La., died at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011.
She is survived by her daughters, Connie (Elzie Sr.) Beard and Kitty (Marshall) Pruyn; sister, Janet Roshto; brother, Robert and Imelda Acosta; six grandchildren, Elzie (Lezlie) Beard Jr., Connie (David) Belgard, Jennifer (David) Winward, and Scott (Dawn), Chris (Wendy) and Kurt (Amy) Pruyn; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Turner; mother, Julianne Cunningham Acosta; and father and stepmother, Robert and Maria LeBlanc Acosta.
Pallbearers were Elzie Sr. and Elzie Jr. Beard, and Marshall, Scott, Chris and Kurt Pruyn. (Baker)
