Aleta Marguerite Champagne, 56, a native and resident of Theriot, La., died Monday, March 3, 2014.


Ms. Champagne had a passion for cooking and trying new recipes. She enjoyed painting, needlework, reading and gardening. She was a founding member and the first Consecrated Bride of Brides of the Most Blessed Trinity and she gave herself to God as a martyr for priests. She was a parishioner of St. Eloi Catholic Church.

She is survived by her sons, Gordon (Erika) and Jay (Candice) Voisin; daughter, Lorena (Kevin) Grant; parents, Wilbert and Claire Champagne; brother, Gregory Champagne; sisters, Taryn (Randy) Mader, Katrina Champagne and Leslie (Jimmy) Griffin; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three grandchildren.


Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 7, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 8:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at St. Eloi Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Chauvin)
