Alex O. “Calhoun” “Ba” Williams, 65, a native and resident of Belle Rose, died Friday, July 8, 2011.

Mr. Williams was a retired employee of McDermott Shipyard in Amelia, La and a member and usher at First Israel Baptist Church.


He is survived by his daughter; Lateacia Williams-Lewis; sons, Kenton (Samantha) and Kleaton Williams; sister, Bernadine Williams; brothers, Abe (Agnes) and Clifton (Connie) Williams; devoted companion, Catherine Bell; 15 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Williams; and parents, Abe and Hazel Williams.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, July 15, at Williams & Southall Funeral Home in Napoleonville, La., and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at First Israel Baptist Church in Belle Rose. Religious services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday followed by Entombment at St. Elizabeth Masoleum in Paincourtville, La. (Williams & Southall)
