Alice Isom Steib, 84, a native and resident of Vacherie, La., died at Audubon Guest Home in Thibodaux, La., Wednesday, February 18.


She is survived by her daughters and spouses, Laura S. and Henry Mitchell Jr. and Ramona S. and Karl Mitchell Sr.; sisters and spouses, Josephine I. Kennedy, Ethel Howard and husband Oregon, and Lottie Mitchell and husband Peter; brothers and spouse, Joseph C. Isom and Norris Isom and wife Evelyn; six grandchildren; four sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and numerous relatives.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Steib; parents, John and Laura James Isom; two brothers; two sisters-in-law; and four brothers-in-law.

She was a retired St. James Parish School Board Food Service employee.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Association.

Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, February 28, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in south Vacherie with a religious service to follow. Interment will be at the church mausoleum.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home of Napoleonville, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
