Allen LaCoste, 101, a native of Bayou Dularge, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, March 26, 2014.


Mr. LaCoste was a self-employed building contractor and parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Woodmen of the World, International Order of Alhambra-Tarragona Caravan and St. Vincent de Paul Society. He was a 50 year attendant at Manresa and a member of the usher society. He was an avid gardener and loved spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his daughter, Carmalite (James) Chandler; foster sister, Juanita; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Lacoste; parents, Manuel and Josephine LaCoste; sisters, Grazilla Rink and Roseilia Theriot; and foster bother, Paul LaCoste.


Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 28, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. (Chauvin)
